You'll learn important strategies, expectations, and content information from the outstanding, full credentialed instructors from BTPS Testing. CBEST, GMAT, GRE, and LSAT test prep books and materials are included in the registration fee and are authored by BTPS Testing. Registration is available online, in person or via phone at (619) 594-5152.
SDSU offers a free-repeat policy for these classes.
Save your proof of initial registration and payment in order to take advantage of this policy. Re-registration is required before the class begins in order to ensure there is still space in the class you wish to repeat.

All Test Prep Sessions are on Saturdays, 9 am-3 pm in SDSU Extended Studies/Gateway Centers, Hardy Avenue entrance, unless otherwise noted.

About Our Test Prep Instructors
CBEST Verbal | Adrian Rosen, MA, has been teaching test preparation classes with BTPS Testing for twenty years. He holds a BA from Thomas Edison College at Princeton and his MA in Teaching from The College of New Jersey. As a creator and author of standardized tests, he is uniquely qualified to teach students how to understand and correctly answer multiple choice questions. He has also developed a practical and effective system for teaching students how to score well on timed essays. Mr. Rosen specializes in helping students achieve their ‘personal best’ performance on a variety of undergraduate and graduate-school entrance exams, most notably the CBEST, SAT (Verbal and Math), the GRE exams.
GMAT/GRE/LSAT Verbal | Jerry Swovelin, MA, has been teaching test preparation classes at colleges and universities throughout California continuously since 1989. He also previously taught Psychology classes at the College level. Mr. Swovelin has extensive training and experience in the field of psychological testing, including earning multiple college degrees in Psychology and Sociology, culminating in his graduating Cum Laude with a Master of Arts in Community/Clinical Psychology. Within the field of test preparation, Mr. Swovelin specializes in helping grad-school applicants achieve their ‘personal best’ performance on a variety of graduate-school entrance exams, most notably the GRE, the GMAT and the LSAT exams.
GMAT/GRE/LSAT Verbal/Writing | Barbara Swovelin spent most of her teaching career at Torrey Pines High School (1982 to 2014). She has both a BA and an MA in English, specializing in British Literature. Her professional experience includes teaching Honors classes 1985—2014; being the author of the Cliffs Notes AP English Language and Composition Guide, Cliffs Notes AP English Literature and Composition Guide and Cliffs Notes GRE General Test Guide (verbal reasoning section) which is used in the Test Prep courses at SDSU College of Extended Studies. She has been an experienced reader for ETS since 1998. Since 1984 she has been teaching graduate level entrance exams, particularly the LSAT, GMAT, and GRE, at colleges and universities throughout California. She is also a College Board Consultant, working both nationally and internationally.
GRE Math | Michael Brown earned his M.A. degree in Applied Mathematics from UCSD in 1984 and began teaching at San Diego Mesa College in 1986 where he regularly teaches the calculus sequence, linear algebra, differential equations and statistics. Professor Brown completed the M.S. degree at SDSU in statistics while teaching full-time at Mesa College. Professor Brown has a passion for teaching and learning and has written supplemental lecture material for all of his classes. For the past 18 months he has been teaching the math portion of the SDSU College of Extended Studies GRE prep courses and recently taught the mathematics portion of the Fundamentals of Engineering course at SDSU.
