Deborah M. Gray, a native of Australia, founded her U.S. wine importing company in 1992 with her family's brand and a collection of small, family-owned wineries. For the past decade, Gray has been a full-time wine business consultant and teaches two courses in SDSU's Business of Wine Certificate program. She has been a frequent guest speaker at wine festivals, judged wine competitions, and conducted wine seminars around the country, including at Epcot and Disneyland. Her first book on wine importing and distribution, How to Import Wine: An Insider's Guide, was recognized as the "Best U.S. Professional Wine Book 2011" by Gourmand International. The second edition of How to Import Wine was released in fall 2018.
